I've made a list with the 9 essentials I think every kid NEEDS to have for all the parties and dinners! You can find all the items in this list at Zara Kids or Mango Kids.

1. A cool bowtie.
2. A sparkling sweater.
3. A leather jacket.
4. Suspenders!
5. A classic tweed jacket.
6. A tulle mini skirt.
7. A lady like dress.
8. A jacket with elbow patches.
9. Booties.

Cool Mums

Cool kids have cool moms! And lucky us, those moms like to post their cool pictures on Instagram. I recently found an awesome woman from Amsterdam who posts pictures of her kids on her Instagram account "sil_fash". You have to follow her!

She takes awesome photos and her kids "Tiger" and "Bamboo" are awesome and so stylish! And you can grab some cool outfit ideas too.

Another Instagram account worth following is "Mommasgonecity"or you can follow her blog too. If you like babies and dogs you are going to love her account and her story! Look at the pictures below!

Recently, she adopted a new puppy and in her words, her baby and the puppy have developed the most beautiful friendship she has ever witnessed. The puppy loves to take naps with the baby and she posts all the pics on Instagram with the hashtag #TheoandBeau.

They have become so successful that she's planning on making a book and donate all the profits to the shelter where they found the dog. You should follow her and of course you should buy the book, where you'll find not just amazing pictures but you'll also help a project.

Winter outfits

Once upon a time...

The new Zara Mini collection for winter is as cute as the previous one. I love the pictures, the colors, the mood boards... Plaid shirts are a must this winter and so are the suspenders. Their lookbook will make your life easier since they put together entire outfits.

If you live in a cold place you are so lucky! Cause you can buy this amazing overcoat with a hoodie. I wish they had it in a bigger size!

Grey and red are the main colors of the collection. And animal shirts look like they've come to stay for a while!

VINTAGE CARS

There's nothing like a vintage item to give a room "that final touch". And I'm sure your kids would love to have one of these retro pedal cars and planes. Restoration Hardware has a good collection of both of them and they even sell the racing cap and goggles. By now you might be thinking of possible Christmas presents... guess what? You just found one!

The silver pedal cars are the ones which look more retro. And they are timeless! Even though your kids grow they'll still love them.

Pottery Barn Kids has a great selection of cars too. They even have a pink one for girls. Yes! Girls like cars too!

And if you are  a car lover, I'm sure you'll go crazy for this Audi pedal car for kids.

Halloween Party

I have to admit that Halloween and Christmas drive me mad. I love all the crafts you can make and the party décor is amazing. I like to stick to a color palette for everything! And this year I wanted to do a black and white pumpkin. They look pretty elegant and chic. In my research I found Studio DIY, an awesome blog with cool pumpkin inspiration.

I love Halloween costumes but the second thing that gets me counting the days to the 31st is the party décor. I would suggest to stick to a color palette for this too. A very cool color mix is black, white and orange. Here's an example from Sweet Little Peanut for Pottery Barn Kids. White chocolate apples, mason jar filled with orange soda, stripped straws, real pumpkins and orange and white balloons will create a really cool effect.

You can also design labels and tags for your beverages or candies like these from Fox in the Pine

Halloween DIY Costumes II

On my last post I suggested some costume ideas for Halloween so that you don't have to buy one in a party shop. Remember, they don't look good. Harlequin costumes are really easy to create. Makeup, black & white clothes and huge necks would do it.

Sometimes one good piece is enough to have an amazing costume like the "Little Red Riding Hood" above. "The White Rabbit" from Alice in Wonderland is also one of my favorite options. And no, you don't have to buy a pre-made costume. Here are some inspirational ideas.

Halloween DIY Costumes

Maybe I should change the title to "Please, don't buy your kid a costume from a party shop". Those costumes don't look good at all. The best option always is DIY! A good makeup might be the only thing your kid needs, like the little "Queen of Hearts" below. If you want the same effect of the picture don't use white makeup use white powder instead. If you costume is all about the outfit, use real items not "costume clothes" like the little "Chaplin" or the "Clockwork orange" below.

You can also grab some clothes from your own wardrobe to create a little scarecrow. The result is pretty cool.

Of course, the fox costume is a must! And they are pretty simple to create. Here you can find a tutorial.

Little Frenchies

Yes, the french do it better! There are no other countries or designers in the world that can pull a classy style better than the french. Ribbons, closed necks, skirts and hats have always been their mark. And that's exactly what you can find in this season's collection at Emile et Ida

Merveilles is also one of my favorite french shops. Their clothes would turn any girl into a little lady. You can go for a skirt or dress option if you want a more girly style, but if you prefer the tomb boy style remember to add at least one feminine detail so that your girl doesn't look like a boy. For example, a little ribbon on the jacket or the hair.

MINI ME by Mango

When you are a kid you want to grow up and when you are a grown up you want to be a kid again. That's what Mango might have thought when they decided to create the Mini Me collection. The coolest pieces for adults are now available for kids.

I'm not a big fan of the matchy matchy thing. So I wouldn't dress a mum and a daughter with the same outfit. But I really love the idea of making kids sizes for these cool adult pieces. My favorite so far is the last outfit for both, adult and kid.

TENTS, TEEPEE, TIPI...

A lot of people are asking me about the design of their kid's room and I always say the same: you need a geometric patterned wall paper and a tent! Seriously, if you have enough space... go get one. I'm all about white so I strongly recommend this color, specially if your walls have a strong shade or a patterned wall paper. Most of my favorite shops have tents you can buy, but if you are a DIY master you can make one. It's not that complicated!

Pola & Frank

I love simplicity and so does Pola & Frank, a polish brand that designs everyday clothes for both mothers and children. Their collections are always based on simple cuts and patterns. This season's color palette is a mix of grey, blush, black and white.

My favorite pieces are the dresses! The polka dot dress and the rhombus + ribbon dress are cute and trendy because of their patterns but what drives me mad is the elegant cut of both of them.
